RiderNav R7M: OTA Firmware Updates
The RiderNav R7M supports over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to the latest features.Please note: Due to the absence of a USB-C port, the R7M can only be updated while mounted on your BMW Nav Prep with the ignition on.
Prerequisites for OTA Updates
Before updating, ensure the following:
R7M is mounted on the BMW Nav Prep
Motorcycle ignition is ON
Stable Wi-Fi connection (mobile hotspot is acceptable)
SD card is inserted (8GB SD card included with R7M)
How to Update
Check for UpdatesGo to Settings > System Update and tap Check for Updates. The system will automatically detect if a new version is available.
Download UpdateIf a new version is found, tap Update Now to begin downloading.
InstallationOnce the download is complete, the R7M will automatically install and restart. Do not power off the device during this process.
CompletionAfter installation, the system will display a success message. If the system shows "Already up to date," no further action is needed.
Important Notes
SD Card Required: An SD card must be inserted for OTA updates (pre-installed in all R7M units).
Power Stability: Keep the motorcycle running throughout the update to prevent interruption.
Update Failure: If an update fails due to power loss or SD card issues, please contact customer support for assistance.
