Quick Start

The R7M is a 7-inch display designed exclusively for BMW motorcycles. Simply insert it into the BMW Navigation Cradle and lock it in place with the BMW key-it's that easy. Powered directly by the BMW Navigation Cradle, the R7M turns on automatically when the motorcycle is started. Once powered on, it connects via CarPlay or Android Auto to mirror your phone's screen, allowing you to enjoy navigation, music, and other supported apps with ease.

① Check Your BMW Navigation Cradle

Make sure your BMW Navigation Cradle is a genuine OEM cradle. Supported cradles include BMW Nav Prep 5/6 and the keyless electric BMW ConnectedRide Mount.

② Install the R7M

Insert the R7M into your BMW Navigation Cradle until it clicks securely. Turn the BMW key to lock the R7M securely in the cradle.

③ Check Installation

Gently push and pull the R7M to ensure it is firmly seated and stable.

Ports & Slots

MicroSD Card Slot

The microSD card slot is located on the side of the unit. Use the included screwdriver to loosen the screw, insert a microSD card (card not included), then go to R7M Settings > Storage to format the card. For OTA firmware updates, we recommend an 8–32 GB card. 

Note: The microSD card is required only for OTA updates and is not needed for daily use. Please make sure the screw and waterproof gasket/strip are fully tightened afterward.

USB Type-C Port

There is a USB-C port on the back of the unit. You can remove the screws and power the device using a 5V 2A USB-C to USB-A cable (cable not included). 

After powering, fully tighten the screws and waterproof gasket to maintain water resistance—if the seal is not secure, water may enter the display, and water damage is not covered under warranty.

Device Activation

Once installed, the R7M is powered directly by the BMW Navigation Cradle. It turns on automatically when you start the motorcycle and powers off when the ignition is turned off—no buttons required.

Tips: If activation fails, try connecting to your phone's hotspot or another Wi-Fi network.

① Enter Activation Interface

When the device starts, go to the activation page and tap Connect to begin.

② Confirm to Activate 

The system will pop up a prompt asking if you want to activate now. Select Yes to continue.

③ Activation in Progress

The device will automatically complete the activation process. This may take a short while.

④ Activation Completed

A confirmation Popup will appear once the device is successfully activated.

Homepage Interface Guide

① Altitude  
Displays the current altitude of your location.


② Driving Range 
Indicates the estimated remaining distance the vehicle can travel.
 

③ Speed
Shows the real-time riding speed.
  

④ Front Tire Pressure
Monitors the front tire pressure in real time.
 

⑤ Rear Tire Pressure
Monitors the rear tire pressure to ensure safe riding.
 

⑥ Screen Casting
Enter the screen casting mode to project navigation and apps from your phone.

⑦ Dashboard 
Switch to the main dashboard display showing speed, RPM, tire pressure, and more.

⑧ Settings
Open the settings menu to configure system options, connectivity, and preferences.

⑨ Time
Displays the current system time.

⑩ Temperature
Shows the ambient temperature around the vehicle.

⑪ GPS / Wi-Fi / Bluetooth Status
Indicates the status of GPS signal and Bluetooth connection.

Wireless Mirroring

R7M supports multiple wireless screen mirroring protocols, allowing you to project smartphone navigation, music, and calls directly onto the dashboard. Depending on your region and system settings, different mirroring options will be available.

CarPlay

Connect your iPhone via Bluetooth to activate Apple CarPlay, allowing seamless access to navigation, calls, music, and messages directly on the screen.

Android Auto 

Pair your Android device with the system via Bluetooth to enabled Android Auto. Enjoy voice-assisted navigation, media playback, and communication features safely while riding.

HiCar 

Enable Huawei HiCar by connecting your Huawei phone via Bluetooth. Once the device is detected, enter the pairing code for first-time verification.

Carink 

Activate CarLink by pairing your smartphone via Bluetooth. Enter the matching code to establish a stable and secure connection.

Dashboard Interface Guide

① RPM
Displays engine revolutions per minute.


② Battery Voltage
Shows the current voltage of the battery.


③ Engine Temperature 
Indicates real-time engine coolant temperature.


④ Speed 
Displays current vehicle speed in km/h.


⑤ Lean Angle
Shows the motorcycle's current lean angle.


⑥ Front Tire Pressure
Monitors the pressure of the front tire.

⑦ Rear Tire Pressure
Monitors the pressure of the rear tire.


⑧ Altitude
Displays current riding altitude.


⑨ Odometer
Shows the accumulated riding distance.


⑩ Remaining Range 
Estimates remaining distance that can be traveled.


⑪ Maintenance Reminder
Displays countdown to next maintenance (in days).


⑫ Gear Position
Displays the current gear position. 

① Speed
Shows real-time speed in km/h.


② Gear Position
Indicates the current gear (N = Neutral).


③ Battery Voltage
Displays current battery voltage.


④ Engine Temperature
Indicates the engine coolant temperature.

⑤ Current Lean Angle 
Shows the motorcycle's present lean angle.


⑥ Max Lean Angle Left
Records the maximum lean angle reached on the left.


⑦ Max Lean Angle Right 
Records the maximum lean angle reached on the right.


⑧ Reset Button
Press to reset maximum lean angle records. 

We cannot guarantee that any data will be displayed on the R7M, as all data is retrieved from your BMW. Take Lean Angle data as an example: If your BMW is not equipped with an incline sensor, the data cannot be transmitted to the R7M. Even if your BMW has such a sensor, transmission may still fail due to restrictions in BMW's communication protocol-and we are unable to make any adjustments to address this issue.

System Settings

Access and customize your R7M display's core configurations to optimize your riding experience.

Display Brightness
Adjust screen brightness and enable automatic brightness.

 

Storage
Check available space on the SD card and format it when necessary.

 

Functions
Access key features such as time, TPMS, Bluetooth headset, GPS and action camera control.


Update
Upgrade to the latest system version for better performance (SD card required).

Language
Choose and set your preferred system display language.

 

Reset
Restore factory settings and clear all custom configurations.

 

About
View device serial number, software version, and Bluetooth information.
 

More
Access additional options, including mileage (km/mi) and temperature (°C/°F) units.

Features

The R7M Functions interface gives you complete command over your ride's essential systems, ensuring safety, convenience, and connectivity mile after mile.

Time
Set the time format, select the time zone, and synchronize the time via GPS for precise accuracy.

 
TPMS
Monitors front and rear tire pressure in real time, with alerts for abnormal values to ensure safety. Compatible with BMW original tire pressure sensors.


Bluetooth Headset
Connects to Bluetooth headsets for navigation voice prompts, music playback, and phone calls, making your ride smarter and more convenient.


GPS
Displays real-time satellite signal strength.


Action Camera Control
Control the action camera directly through the system for easy video capture while riding.
(Requires latest firmware update)

 

Switching Channel

To fix connection failures or frequent drops, manually select a different Wi-Fi channel from the list. Performance depends on local interference. (Requires latest firmware update)

Wonder Wheel Control

With the combined use of the control wheel and buttons, you have full control over the system: browse and confirm apps in Link Mode, switch songs, pause or resume playback, answer or reject calls with ease, and quickly switch between screens. This ensures smooth operation across entertainment, navigation, and communication while keeping your focus on the road. 

Control Switching

Long press the MENU Up button to switch to R7M, or short press the MENU Down button for the BMW instrument cluster.

Action Camera Control

Short-Tilt Multi-Controller Left/Right: Navigate the cursor.

Press Direction Reset Button: Confirms selection.

Projection Mode

  • Turn Multi-Controller Up/Down: Move the cursor and select applications.

  • Long-Tilt Multi-Controller Left/Right: Switch between dashboard views.

Navigation

  • Left tilt: Back

  • Right tilt: Confirm

Calls & Media

  • Right tilt: Answer call / Play-Pause

  • Left tilt: Hang up

Taskbar Shortcut (Android Auto)

Perform a 3-second long press on the Direction Reset button to switch cursor control between the app list and the taskbar.

The functionality of the Direction Reset button depends on your device's current firmware version. We highly recommend updating to the latest firmware for the best experience.

For Firmware > v1.4.4:

Screen Lock/Unlock: Swipe down from the top to lock; swipe up to unlock.

Android Auto (3s Long Press): Toggles cursor control between the app list and the taskbar.

 

For Firmware v1.4.4:

5-Second Long Press: Locks or unlocks the touchscreen.

(Note: Android Auto cursor switching is not supported in this version).

 

For Firmware < v1.4.4:

3-Second Long Press (Android Auto): Switches cursor control between the app list and the taskbar.

(Note: Touchscreen lock is not supported in these older versions).

System Update

To ensure stable performance and access to the latest features, R7M supports firmware updates. 

Release Notes

① Check for Updates

Go to Settings > System Update, and tap Check for Updates. The system will automatically detect if a new version is available.

② Download and Install 

If a new version is found, tap Update Now to start the download. After downloading, R7M will automatically install and restart. Please make sure the device has sufficient power during the update.

③ Update Complete

Once the installation is finished, the system will confirm that the update was successful. If the device shows it's already up to date, no further action is needed.

The R7M does not include an SD card. We recommend purchasing an 32GB SD card for OTA (Over-The-Air) firmware updates.
