Can I use R7X with R7M brackets or vice versa?
No. R7M and R7X use completely different mounting systems and are not compatible. R7M is designed specifically for BMW's navigation cradle. R7X requires its own universal bracket. You cannot use R7M on R7X brackets or R7X on BMW's OEM cradle.
Which motorcycles does R7X work with?
R7X works with 99% of motorcycles including Harley-Davidson, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, KTM, Triumph, and more. It's compatible with standard motorcycle bracket systems.
Does R7X work with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?
Yes. R7X connects wirelessly to both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via Bluetooth. Navigation, music, calls, and messages all work seamlessly. Your phone stays in your pocket—everything displays on the 7" screen.
Can R7X read tire pressure (TPMS)?
R7X supports tire-pressure monitoring exclusively through RiderNav's TPMS module. Factory TPMS systems are not compatible. Our dedicated TPMS add-on launches May 2024 and is available for purchase, allowing all riders to monitor real-time tire pressure on R7X, regardless of bike type.
How do I get audio guidance?
Use an external Bluetooth headset. R7X has no built-in speaker.
Is R7X waterproof?
Yes. R7X is IP69K rated, meaning it's fully protected against dust, mud, pressure wash, and heavy rain. It operates reliably from -20°C to 70°C. Tested in harsh weather conditions and ready for all-weather riding.
How do I update the R7X firmware?
To update the R7X, go to Settings > System Update and tap Check for Updates. If a new version is available, select Update Now to download and install it. The device will restart automatically after the update. Please ensure the R7X is powered by the cradle connected to your motorcycle battery or the USB port on the back of the unit, and maintain a stable internet connection during the process—we recommend using nearby Wi-Fi or your phone's hotspot.
Does R7X require an internet connection to work?
Navigation on R7X runs through your phone via CarPlay or Android Auto, so the data connection always comes from your smartphone.
R7M itself does not have built-in mobile data or Wi-Fi for daily use.
Only the initial activation and OTA firmware updates require a temporary Wi-Fi connection.
Does R7X support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?
Yes. R7X pairs wirelessly with your phone for CarPlay or Android Auto. Power on the bike, and R7X will auto-connect once paired the first time.
Does R7X have built-in maps or music apps?
No. R7X does not include any pre-installed maps or media applications.
All navigation, music, and app functions are projected from your phone through CarPlay or Android Auto.

What is RN OS and when would I use it?
RN OS is RiderNav’s rider-first interface—built for gloves, glare, and motion. Use RN OS when you want a native, distraction-free experience; switch to CarPlay/Android Auto when you want your phone’s full app ecosystem.
Does the R7X have built-in GPS?
Yes. The R7X is equipped with a built-in GPS receiver.
This internal GPS is used only for recording and displaying your riding data—such as trip mileage, speed updates, and altitude information.
It has no connection to the navigation apps you use through Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
When using maps (Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze, etc.), all location data comes from your phone, not from the R7X’s GPS.
Does the R7X have its own battery?
The R7X contains no internal battery or capacitor. It draws stable power directly from your motorcycle's electrical system via the cradle, or connects to USB power—your choice.
