INTELLIGENT AUXILIARY LIGHT CONTROLLER RLC3

RaysDim Lighting Controller RLC3 Smart Rotary Knob Auxiliary Light Controller (hereinafter referred to as RLC3 Smart Wiring Harness)

The RLC3 Smart Wiring Harness features a rotary switch composed of an encoder knob and an auxiliary high-beam button. The encoder knob also serves as the power on/off switch. With minimal components, it delivers power control, stepless dimming, and warning functions. The backlit LED indicator gradually transitions from green to blue, indicating auxiliary light brightness increasing from low to high. The RLC3 Smart Wiring Harness can control one pair of spot beam, flood beam, or hybrid beam auxiliary lights. The harness features a modular design connected by extension cables with miniaturized connectors for faster wiring installation.

SAFETY WARNINGS

Please carefully read and strictly comply with the following safety precautions before beginning installation:

Disconnect Power:
Disconnect the motorcycle's electrical system completely before installation. Never perform work with power connected.

Appropriate Tools:
Use suitable professional tools for installation to prevent tool slippage that could cause personal injury.

Proper Torque:
Tighten all fasteners according to the specified torque values to prevent safety hazards caused by improper tightening.

Professional Installation:
If you are not confident in your installation skills, we recommend having the installation performed by a qualified motorcycle service technician.

Wiring Harness Installation

(Wiring Example: RLC3 1-to-1 Harness paired with one pair of auxiliary lights)

2.1 Auxiliary Light Wiring
Connector Security: Ensure auxiliary light extension cable connectors at both ends are properly aligned and tightened to prevent disconnection and water ingress.
Required Trigger Signal Line
ACC Trigger Signal Line (Yellow Label - ACC): This trigger signal detects whether the vehicle ignition is activated. The wiring harness will only power on after ignition is engaged.
Note: Any circuit that powers on (12-15V) when the ignition switch is turned on and cuts off when the ignition switch is turned off can serve as the AcC line. The AcC line must be connected to a circuit protected by an original vehicle fuse and should be connected downstream of the fuse.

Optional Trigger Signal Line
High-Beam Sync Trigger Signal Line (Yellow Label- High Beam): Connect to the positive power control line of the vehicle's original high-beam lights. The auxiliary light and original high-beam light will operate in sync.
Note: This function is only available on vehicle models where the high-beam lights are controlled via power switch.

Power Cable Connector, XT60, and Waterproofing Precautions:

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
・The power cable connector (XT60) is not fully waterproof. During installation, avoid allowing water to accumulate inside the connector.
・We recommend periodically checking the connector connection status.
・In humid environments, use waterproof tubing to protect the connector.

2.2 Push Button Switch Installation

Install the button switch bracket at the rear-view mirror location as shown in the diagram. The auxiliary high-beam button should be installed at the recommended location shown in the diagram. Before installation, ensure the installation surface is clean and apply the 3M adhesive backing firmly.

Controller Installation Position and Securing

① Installation Requirements:

・The controller should be installed in a structurally stable location.

・Prevent movement that could cause connector loosening.

・Avoid direct exposure in high-vibration environments.

②Control Wiring Harness

・The control wiring harness features a modular design for easy installation and removal.

・Control lines, connection lines, switches, and other components are separate modules.

③ Installation Recommendations:

・Select corresponding modules based on actual requirements.

・We recommend inspecting module connectors for integrity before installation.

・When installing the wiring harness, reserve adequate space for inspection.

2.3 Connecting to Battery

Follow these steps when connecting the wiring harness to the vehicle battery:

Step 1: Remove the fuse from the wiring harness. Important: Safely store the removed fuse; it will need to be reinstalled later.

Step 2: Connect the harness positive terminal to the battery positive terminal (red power cable) and the harness negative terminal to the battery negative terminal (black power cable). Tighten the battery positive and negative terminal screws securely.

Step 3: After verifying all connections are correct, reinsert the fuse into the fuse box.

Long Press: Enters warning flash function mode

Within the mode, long press to cycle through modes; short press to exit warning flash function mode.

  • ②Rotate-Clockwise:Increase auxiliary light brightness.
    Rotate-Counter-clockwise:Decrease auxiliary light brightness.

  • ③Short Press: Toggle auxiliary high-beam light on/off.

④ High-Beam Sync: (High-beam sync trigger signal line must be connected first.) When the vehicle's high beam is activated, the auxiliary light automatically turns on and syncs with the high beam.

⑤ Horn Sync: (Horn sync trigger signal line must be connected first.) When the horn is held down, the auxiliary light flashes in sync as a warning alert. Short horn presses do not trigger flashing.

Important Precautions

Power Test Before Installation
Verify the device operates normally before installation to prevent discovering faults after installation.

Install in Well-Ventilated Location
Keep away from engine, radiator, and other high-temperature heat sources to prevent overheating and compromised cooling performance.

Use Within Rated Specifications
Do not exceed rated specifications to avoid product damage or safety hazards.

Do Not Damage or Crush Wiring
Damaged wiring compromises waterproofing and reduces service life. Properly secure and protect the wiring harness.

Check for Faults Before Replacing Blown Fuse
A blown fuse indicates a problem. You must inspect and resolve the fault before replacing the fuse with one of the same specification.

Compatible with RiderNav Auxiliary Lights Only
This product is designed exclusively for the RiderNav lighting system. Do not pair with incompatible devices.

Installation and Maintenance by Qualified Technicians
This product must be installed and maintained by qualified technicians. We assume no responsibility for damage caused by non-professional installation or maintenance.

Troubleshooting Guide

If the wiring harness or auxiliary lights exhibit abnormal behavior, perform the following basic checks to quickly identify the faulty component:
Basic Inspection (Mandatory Before Starting)

Verify all power cable and ACC line connections are secure.

Confirm all extension cable connectors are fully tightened.

Systematically replace auxiliary lights, controller, button switch, extension cables, power cables, and other components to isolate the fault.

Try swapping the left and right lights and the controller-end light extension cable connectors.
