Ho acquistato il RiderNav R7M e sono rimasto molto soddisfatto. La qualità costruttiva si nota fin dal primo utilizzo: il display da 7” è grande, nitido e molto leggibile, mentre il sistema risulta fluido e intuitivo.
Un punto di forza, soprattutto per chi possiede una BMW, è l’integrazione con la rotellona,che permette di gestire le principali funzioni senza dover utilizzare continuamente il touch.
Anche la connettività è semplice e affidabile.
L’installazione è stata facile e il dispositivo si integra molto bene con la moto senza compromettere la visuale del TFT.
Ottima anche la sensazione generale di solidità e la resistenza alle condizioni atmosferiche.
Dopo averlo utilizzato su strada posso dire che ha migliorato davvero l’esperienza di viaggio: navigazione più comoda, informazioni sempre a portata di mano e un display finalmente ben visibile anche durante la guida.

Después de mi frustración inicial, la falta de un manual, sí, no viene un manual con el RiderNav, me he peleado con él durante estos primeros 15 días, desde que lo recibí; solo he intentado que funcionara como había entendido que debería hacerlo. Tengo que decir que he recibido todo el apoyo de soporte, lo cual demuestra que la compra mereció la pena. 5 estrellas para soporte, gracias, Erika. La integración simultánea entre la pantalla BMW TFT, el intercomunicador de casco, el smartphone y RiderNav puede generar conflictos en los canales de Bluetooth si no se configura con el orden de conexión adecuado. Asimismo, la navegación con la Wonder Wheel y la actualización OTA disponen de rutas específicas y atajos de control para facilitar el manejo.

Perfetto per BMW 1300 gs

Ho avuto un altro carplay su un'altra moto (non BMW), e lo trovavo complicato nella gestione. Oltretutto quando viaggi i comandi vocali sono difficilmente utilizzabili. Con il Ridernav r7m dedicato a questa marca, chiaramente se si dispone dell'attacco gps, diventa un'altra faccenda. Dopo avere imparatoni comandi, forse la cosa 8n pochino più complicata, diventa facile passare da un menù all'altro. Navigare e ne contempo sentire la musica. Rispondere al telefono o chiamare. Se poi si vuole si puo utilizzarlo come schermo alternativo all'originale o disporre di un altro schermo con altre informazioni. Per concludere per chi possiede una BMW consigliatissimo ed in ultimo ma no. Meno importante anche i 7 pollici non interferiscono minimamente con il parabrezza elettrico

Surprisingly good

After a few weeks of use I can give my experience with it.
Pros: big display with good brightness, works seamless with wonderwheel, connects quick with my phone and the touchscreen works great with gloves
Cons: it needs an sd card for firmware update. if you start the bike while it boots it froze once until I did a power cycle, at the time I was on version 1.5.6

I've had the opportunity to install several similar devices on my GS, but none have impressed me as much as Ridernav. The build quality, fluidity, and easy-to-read display in all conditions make it the absolute leader. I'd also like to point out that the device was even used in constant rain for over 3 hours without ever having any difficulty using it or selecting options on its touchscreen display. What can I say? I highly recommend this product, and good luck to everyone, especially those who choose to follow my advice. ✌️

Das beste Display für die BMW Navivorbereitung!

Dieses Display ist die beste Lösung, wenn keine Dash Kameras benötigt werden.
Zwei kleine Kritikpunkte habe ich. 1. es wäre wünschenswert, wenn man die Verbindung zu Android Auto (Carplay) beim fahren trennen könnte. Dadurch das die Verbindung immer steht, wird der Handyakku unnötig belastet. Wenn ich Android Auto nur kurz brauche, möchte ich es wieder unkompliziert trennen können. 2. Die Geschwindigkeit in der Anzeige müsste sich auf GPS Geschwindigkeit umschalten lassen. Dann wäre das Gerät zu 100% perfekt. Durch die Größe des Gerätes mit einem 7 Zoll Screen, lassen sich die Funktionen auch mit Handschuhen, hervorragend bedienen. So gut lässt sich kein anderes Display mit Handschuhen bedienen. Auch die Darstellung auf dem großen Display ist perfekt. Verbindungsabbrüche gab es mit meinem Handy (Samsung S24) bis jetzt keine. Es funktioniert alles einwandfrei. Auch mit der Wonder Wheel Steuerung komme ich sehr gut zurecht. Seit der Version 1.5.9 funktioniert auch eine Power-only Halterung wieder. Bitte unbedingt beibehalten!
Aber, ein wirklich gelungenes Gerät, was mir sehr viel Spass macht.

BMW Compatibility

DESCRIPTION

The R7M is a 7-inch display made specifically for BMW motorcycles. It is true plug-and-play: you do not need extra cables, and you do not need any custom wiring. You simply place the R7M into the BMW Navigation Cradle and lock it with your BMW key. That is the full installation.

The R7M gets power directly from the BMW Navigation Cradle. When you start the motorcycle, the R7M turns on automatically. It also supports control using the BMW Wonder Wheel, and it can read motorcycle data from the cradle and show that data on the screen while you ride.

For navigation, music, phone calls, and messages, the R7M connects to your phone. It uses Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to mirror your phone onto the display. Your apps still run on your phone. The R7M becomes the screen and the control surface you use on the bike.

BMW Cradle Compatibility (Nav Prep 5/6 & Keyless Electric)

R7M supports BMW Nav Prep 5/6 and the new keyless electric cradle. Cradles with physical front buttons are not supported. For photos, model notes, and quick ID tips, read the full guide.

Wonder Wheel Control

R7M supports BMW Wonder Wheel control, letting you operate R7M from the OEM multi-controller on the bar. To enable it, you must use a genuine BMW Navigation Cradle with clean, intact pins/contacts, have “Preparation for Navigation Unit (SA 272)” activated, and ride a model/configuration that exposes Wonder Wheel control via BMW’s protocol. Availability varies by model, year, and options; if the cradle is non-genuine, the contacts are dirty/damaged, or SA 272 isn’t activated, Wonder Wheel control won’t be available.

Data Reading Disclaimer

R7M displays OEM bike data as provided by your BMW. Availability varies by model and configuration. For example, lean-angle requires a built-in BMW lean-angle sensor; if your bike lacks that sensor—or if BMW’s communication protocol does not expose it—R7M cannot show the value. These limitations are defined by the motorcycle and cannot be overridden.

Which BMW Models Are NOT Supported?

The R7M requires a standalone BMW OEM Navigation Cradle and is NOT compatible with motorcycles that use an integrated navigation bay built into the fairing or instrument cluster, such as the BMW R 1250 RT, R 1200 RT, and K 1600 series. It also does not support motorcycles without a factory Nav Cradle, aftermarket or modified cradles, cradles with damaged or oxidized pins, or older button-style BMW Navigation Preparation cradles. Many other BMW models can be compatible if they have the OEM cradle + SA 272. Ask your dealer about adding/activating Nav Prep where applicable.

Models or Setups That Are Not Supported

If any of the following conditions apply, R7M is not supported.

1. Bikes with integrated/embedded dash navigation compartments instead of the external cradle—commonly:
R 1250 RT / R 1200 RT (integrated fairing compartment)
K 1600 series (integrated dash solutions)

2. No OEM Navigation Cradle present (no place to dock R7M)

3. Non-genuine or modified cradles; damaged or oxidized pins

4. BMW Navigation Cradle with built-in buttons (button-type Nav Prep).

Does R7M support a dashcam or external cameras?

No. R7M cannot add cameras and does not provide a dashcam function. It’s intentionally plug-and-play and minimal, so BMW riders don’t take on extra installation cost or time.

Can R7M read tire pressure (TPMS)?

RiderNav will offer an external TPMS add-on. If your BMW does not have factory TPMS, you’ll be able to purchase our TPMS to view tire-pressure data on R7M.

How do I get audio guidance?

Use an external Bluetooth headset. R7M has no built-in speaker.

How is R7M powered? Do I need extra wiring?

No extra wiring. R7M is powered directly by the BMW Navigation Cradle. Insert, lock with your BMW key, and ride.

How do I update the R7M firmware?

To update the R7M, go to Settings > System Update and tap Check for Updates. If a new version is available, select Update Now to download and install it. The device will restart automatically after the update. Please ensure the R7M is powered by the BMW navigation cradle and has a stable internet connection during the process—we recommend using nearby Wi-Fi or your phone’s hotspot.
Important: The R7M has no USB port and can only perform OTA updates when powered through the BMW Navigation Cradle—it cannot be updated using a home wall charger.

Does R7M require an internet connection to work?

Navigation on R7M runs through your phone via CarPlay or Android Auto, so the data connection always comes from your smartphone.
R7M itself does not have built-in mobile data or Wi-Fi for daily use.
Only the initial activation and OTA firmware updates require a temporary Wi-Fi connection.

Does R7M support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?

Yes. R7M pairs wirelessly with your phone for CarPlay or Android Auto. Power on the bike, and R7M will auto-connect once paired the first time.

Does R7M have built-in maps or music apps?

No. R7M does not include any pre-installed maps or media applications.
All navigation, music, and app functions are projected from your phone through CarPlay or Android Auto.
This design keeps R7M simple, responsive, and focused on delivering a seamless riding experience.

What is RN OS and when would I use it?

RN OS is RiderNav’s rider-first interface—built for gloves, glare, and motion. Use RN OS when you want a native, distraction-free experience; switch to CarPlay/Android Auto when you want your phone’s full app ecosystem.

Does the R7M have built-in GPS?

Yes. The R7M is equipped with a built-in GPS receiver.
This internal GPS is used only for recording and displaying your riding data—such as trip mileage, speed updates, and altitude information.

It has no connection to the navigation apps you use through Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
When using maps (Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze, etc.), all location data comes from your phone, not from the R7M’s GPS.

Does the R7M have its own battery?

The R7M does not contain an internal capacitor or battery.
It is powered entirely through the BMW Navigation Cradle, which supplies stable power from your motorcycle’s electrical system.
