Frequently Asked Installation Questions

Do I need a professional installer for the R7X?

No — most riders install the R7X themselves in 30 minutes with basic tools. If you're comfortable connecting a wire to your motorcycle battery, you can install the R7X. If not, any local motorcycle shop can do it for you.

Is the R7M really plug-and-play on my BMW?

Yes. If your BMW has an OEM Nav Cradle (Nav Prep 5 or Nav Prep 6), the R7M slots in and locks with your BMW key. No wiring, no drilling, no tools required. Full installation takes under 60 seconds.

What tools do I need to install the R7X?

The R7X ships with everything needed to mount it (Torx bolts and key).

Frequently Asked Installation Questions

Do I need a professional installer for the Q5 Pro auxiliary lights?

The Q5 Pro is designed to be installable by any rider comfortable with basic motorcycle electrical work. The complete kit includes a pre-terminated wiring harness, inline fuse, waterproof handlebar switch, and mounting hardware. Most installations take 45-60 minutes. If you're not comfortable working with your motorcycle's electrical system, any local motorcycle shop can install it in the same time.

Can I install the Q5 Pro on any motorcycle?

The Q5 Pro is universal-fit and works with virtually any motorcycle running a standard 12V electrical system. Mounting brackets fit most crash bars, engine guards, and fork tubes. If you're unsure about compatibility with your specific bike, email us at cs@ridernav.com with your motorcycle's make, model, and a photo of your intended mounting location.

Where should I mount the Q5 Pro spotlights on my bike?

The most common mounting points are the engine crash bars (for adventure and touring bikes) or the front forks (for sport and standard bikes). The included brackets accommodate both. Our installation video walks through the most popular mounting configurations.

Will the Q5 Pro drain my motorcycle battery?

No — the Q5 Pro is powered directly from your motorcycle's electrical system through a dedicated switch and relay, and only draws power when actively turned on. When switched off, there is zero parasitic drain.
